Optimum’s Flag Replacement Program

To preserve pride in the American flag, Optimum is working to replace faded, tattered, or ripped flags outside of homes and businesses across its footprint at no cost. While on their daily routes, local Optimum employees are on the lookout for American flags that need replacement and working directly with property and business owners to replace their flags. Following local flag replacement ceremonies, the retired flag is given to area organizations for proper flag retirement.

Local Efforts in Greenville, North Carolina

In partnership with the company’s Military Family Affinity Group, Optimum is proud to offer events and opportunities to employees and customers to further show its commitment to honoring NMAM, including through:

  • Murph Challenge: The company is hosting a Murph Challenge, the Official annual fundraiser of the LT. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation, at Optimum’s Greenville retail location on Thursday, May 23, where employees and local residents can participate in the challenge to honor veterans.
  • Flag Donation: As part of Optimum’s partnership with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), an organization that provides vital assistance and support to America’s war veterans, Optimum provided flags for local Boy Scouts to plant at local grave sites. Earlier this month, Optimum employees also volunteered their time to help the Boy Scouts place flags across Pitt County cemeteries.
